Today, State Finance Commission Chairman G.RAJESHAM GOUD, met Governor E.S.L Narasimhan and briefed him about the preliminary activities recently being taken up by the State Finance Commission after its constitution.
The TSFC has arranged Interactive sessions with the Municipal Corporation Mayors, ZP Chairmen seeking suggestions on strengthening of PRIs and ULBs. Simultaneously study is being conducted on improvement of financial status of PRIs & ULBs through CESS and ASCI.
The Governor gave suggestions to the TSFC to strengthen the resource base and devolution of funds, functions and functionaries to the PRIs in the wake of new Panchayat Raj act brought by the Telangana Government and various development activities being taken up by the Telangana Government like providing house to house drinking water supply through Mission Bhagiratha, internal roads in all Gram Panchayats.
The Governor has extended his best wishes to the Chairman , TSFC for coming up with a commendable report for the betterment and development of the PRIs and ULBs in the state. SFC Member M. Chennaiah also attended the meeting. (NSS)
