G Kishan Reddy to take over as president of BJP AP unit

Hyderabad, March 05: In tune with the BJP’s resolve to encourage young leadership, G Kishan Reddy is all set to take over as the president of the saffron party in Andhra Pradesh.

Announcement about the unanimous election of 44-year-old leader would be formally made tomorrow at BJP state council meeting of the party.

No other person filed nomination for the post till the time for filing nominations expired this evening.

Three sets of nominations were filed today on Reddy’s behalf with the Returning Officer for the election Ramnath Kovind, a former MP.

Reddy, who replaces Bandaru Dattatreya, is from the new generation of leaders of the party which was previously led by veterans like Ch Vidyasagar Rao and N Indrasena Reddy.

Earlier, the National Council of BJP gave indications that fresh faces would be inducted for the posts of office-bearers.
