Hyderabad, October 02: As expected, the State Government has extended the due to date for receipt of Request for Qualification (RFQ) applications
for the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) project by another month.
The one-month extension from October 3 to November 2 was given on the basis of representations from some of the firms which purchased the pre-qualification documents for the much delayed Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
The reasons cited by these prospective applicants for the extension included more time for approvals by their respective company boards, spade work required for bidding for the project and other technical and financial credentials from various agencies. The other reasons include vetting of legal documents of foreign companies by Indian Embassies in those countries, negative travel advice by certain countries like the US against travel to India because of swine flu and others etc.
Consequently, the new date for submission of financial bids is going to be on January 22, 2010. All the consequential changes in the event dates are posted on HMR website www.hyderabadmetrorail.in.
