Fund released for salaries of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid employees

Minority Welfare Department has released Rs. 55.86 lakh for payment of salaries to workers, security guards and home guards serving in Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid. Special Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel issued GO RT 27 in this connection.

The government had earmarked Rs. 3,81,97000 to review the economic condition of minorities and schemes related to their development . District Minority Welfare Officer Hyderabad appealed to the government to release Rs. 88 lakh to look after Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid so that the masajid can be painted, renovated and CC cameras can be installed in them. After reviewing the application the government decided to amend GO RT 51 so that the salaries of employees and home guards of the two masajid could be paid.

It must be recalled that Siasat daily had published a report stating that over 15 home guards rendering security services at Makkah Masjid are deprived of their monthly salaries.
