Aligarh, Aug. 19 : Renowned lyricist and Rajya Sabha MP Javed Akhtar on Wednesday said the ongoing logjam in the FTII against the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan is not right.
“I don’t think it is right that such a great institution remains closed as it has given a lot of talented personalities to the film industry,” Akhtar told the media here.
Admitting that he wasn’t aware of the latest development, Akhtar added “This logjam is not right.”
The students were arrested by the police late last night after FTII Director Prashant Pathrabe lodged a complaint against them for detaining him inside the campus on Monday.
The students have been charged with obstructing a public servant from doing his duty, a non-bailable offence, and six other charges including destruction of property, punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, rioting, wrongful restraint and unlawful assembly. (ANI)
