FTII Film Appreciation course at MANUU from today

Hyderabad: Instructional Media Centre of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University is conducting 5-day Film Appreciation course in collaboration with Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune from February 20 – 24. The inaugural ceremony will be held on February 20 at 10.00 am CPDUMT auditorium, MANUU campus.

Mr. Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII will be the chief guest and Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU will preside over the inaugural.

FTII alumni & renowned film academicians Mr. Pankaj Saxena and Mr. Munish Bhardawaj, who have held film appreciation courses across the country, are the course directors and will conduct this course.

According to Mr. Rizwan Ahmad, Director, Instructional Media Centre, this is a rare opportunity for cinema lovers of Hyderabad and will hugely benefit their skills.

The course is aimed at those interested in the cinema, amateurs and young professionals alike who wish to deepen their understanding of the field. This will further spread film literacy and promote a better understanding of cinema.

This short course in Hyderabad is under the banner of FTII’s nationwide outreach initiative SKIFT (Skilling India in Film and Television) under which courses are held across the country and round the year.

The course is being widely appreciated by Hyderabad film lovers and film community. According to Mr. Imtiyaz Alam, course coordinator, large numbers of applications are received till date and considering the interests of film lovers and applicants, spot registration facility is available on February 20.
