Counseling program organized by Siasat Urdu Daily was very helpful to the students who passed out EAMCET this year. Muslim students are increasingly taking interest in the field of education which is yielding fruitful result. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing a career guidance program organized at Royal Regency Garden, Asif Nagar for the students who have cleared EAMCET this year. Speaking at the function, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that more girls are studying than the boys. He requested the parents to get their children educated. He advised them to make an attempt to seek admissions in professional courses other than Medicine and Engineering. If the Muslim youths join Indian Army, Air force, CRPF and other Central Services, they can take retirement after 10 years of service. They will be treated as ex-serviceman and they will get all the benefits for their children in the fields of education and employment.
Continuing his speech, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that Siasat Urdu Daily is actively engaged in the welfare activities of Muslim community. He requested the students to contact Siasat Office for getting the details of their ranks and courses available at various colleges. If any student gets admission through counseling by the convener, he will be eligible for fee reimbursement facility. He thanked Mr. Faisal bin Ali and the management of Royal Regency for extending cooperation for this program. He informed that Siasat Urdu Daily is promoting the students to prepare for IAS, IPS, NDA and other competitive examinations.
Mr. Zafar Javeed, Secretary of Sultan ul Uloom Educational Society and Chairman of Minority Institutions Federation address the gathering as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the process of counseling. He informed that the counseling system was started in the State in 1994. Separate counseling for Minority colleges under SW-II was started in 2006. He advised the students to prepare a check list of the documents to be produced at the time of counseling. He pointed out that the Muslim candidates of this state are fortunate. He told that in Assam, there are 33% Muslims but there is only one Muslim college. In West Bengal there are 30% Muslims but there is no single Muslim college whereas in Telangana, the Muslims constitute 14% of the total population and there are 52 Muslim professional colleges. In addition to this, there is fee reimbursement scheme which enables the Muslim students to study at professional colleges free of cost.
Dr. Abdur Rahman, Retired Professor of Agricultural University gave the details of B.Sc (Agriculture) whereas Prof. Syed Ismail highlighted the opportunities in Veterinary Science, Horticulture and Fisheries. Mr. Ahmed Basheeruddin Farooqui gave the details of various courses in the fields of Engineering and Medicine. Mr. M.A. Hameed, Career Counselor gave the details of EAMCET Counseling. More than 5000 students and their parents attended the program.
