At the parking area of Hyderabad International airport at Shamsabad, the Muslims offered Friday prayer yesterday in the dazzling Sunlight.
Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, MLC of TRS was present there along with his supporters. Nearly 100 Muslims offered Friday prayers.
The intensity of heat could be gauged from the fact that all the persons present there were drenched in Sweat.
A report was published in Siasat Urdu Daily, the day before yesterday highlighting the inconvenience the Muslims are facing in offering Friday prayers. It was also mentioned that the airport authorities are adamant on not giving permission to offer Friday prayers. After offering Friday prayer, Congress leader, Mr. Khaleequr Rahman told that offering prayers in dazzling sunlight is not an ordinary event.
He told that he would make a representation to Congress High Command including Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Vice President of Congress.
Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali MLC of TRS said that Masjid-e-Omer was dismantled for the construction of this airport. It is very strange that the airport has been constructed on the Wakf land of more than 1000 acres, but the Govt. does not allot 1000 square yards of land for the construction of the mosque.
He demanded that on the next Friday, the Muslims should offer Friday Prayer in the area earnmarked for parking the vehicles. He told that he would inform TRS Chief Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao about this injustice. He also said that he would take up this matter to New Delhi also.
Among those who offered Friday prayer yesterday was Mr. Shahid Peeran of Wakf Board. Mr. Mohammed Riyazuddin led the Friday prayer. He told that all the Muslim leaders irrespective of their political associations should raise their voice jointly at least on this issue of common interest of all of us.
