DEHRADUN: Nalin Kohli, a BJP spokeperson on Monday questioned the Harish Rawat government for providing a special 90-minute break for Muslim employees for Friday namaaz.
“What is Hindu community says it needs two hour break for Shiv Puja on Monday or on Tuesday for lord Hanuman,” news agency ANI quoted him as saying.

He further added that Harish Rawat-led Congress government is willing to go to any limits for sake of votes.
Defending the move, Kishore Upadhyay, the Uttarakhand Congress Chief said, “agar ye chunavi stunt hai to dekhiye Rs 1400 crore aur 800 tonne sona kha kar Ram mandir ban gaya.” (If this is an election stunt, then you can see how Ram temple has been built after eroding Rs 1400 crore and 800 tonne gold).

A cabinet meeting on Saturday, chaired by Chief Minister Harish Rawat, decided that a special break of one-and-a-half hours’ from 12:30 PM till 2:00 PM every Friday to offer namaz will be given to the government employees from the Muslim community.
