Fresh snowfall in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, March 04: Higher reaches in Himachal Pradesh experienced mild snowfall Thursday morning while mid hills had rain.

According to the meteorological office, more spells of snow and rain are likely Thursday and Friday.

‘High-altitude areas of Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu and Chamba districts have been experiencing snow since yesterday (Wednesday) evening due to western disturbances,’ Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told.

‘The western disturbances will remain active in the entire western Himalayan region and plains of northwest India till Thursday night. There are chances of more spells of snow and rain,’ he said.

According to him, after the fresh snow and rain there was a fall in minimum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees in the state.

However, the Met office said it would get dry by Saturday.

‘A fresh western disturbance will again approach the region March 7 and 8,’ Singh added.
