Fresh rumblings at Vanasthalipuram create scare

Hyderabad, November 02: Mysterious blast-like sounds and seismic disturbances continued to cause panic among the residents of the NGOs Colony in Vanasthalipuram on the city outskirts forcing people to run out of their houses.

People came on to the roads fearing an earthquake after they heard mysterious sounds tonight. Inmates of several houses claimed that they felt mild tremors. However, there was no damage to any house or property.

Since the night of October 22, the residents of Sachivalaynagar and the surroundings have been experiencing strange rumbling sounds prompting the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) scientists to install seismic observatory equipment in the localities.

The residents heaved a sigh of relief a few days ago when the rumblings stopped.

The mysterious sounds resumed creating panic among them.

NGRI scientists, however, said such subterranean sounds were natural phenomena commonly observed in the shield region.

They said there was no cause for concern due to seismic disturbances. NGRI experts are likely to study the fresh round of rumblings from Tuesday.
