Hyderabad: Protests continue in twin cities against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). A sudden protest erupted at Mehdipatnam on Thursday night when a group of nearly 20 youth reached Mehdipatnam crossroad at 11:30 pm. They were holding placards and tiranga and were shouting slogans.
On receipt of information, Humayun Nagar police reached the spot and detained some youth. However, they were released after a short while.
Humayun Nagar inspector Sunil told that some youth tried to protest against NRC though police had not permitted for the same.
He said no one was shifted to the police station in this connection.
