Fresh IB inputs: Red Alert sounded in City

With the inputs from national Intelligence agencies, the Hyderabad city police stepped up security measures like checking of motorists and bikers at all the busy centers in the State capital. High alert has been sounded in the state, especially in the twin cities and surrounding areas, and security has been beefed up at all important temples for the ensuing Sivaratri festival.

On a fresh directive issued by the Central Intelligence Bureau of possible strike by the terrorists on the occasion of large congregation of devotees at temples in connection with the ensuing Sivaratri festival, the police have stepped up security and vigil at all crowded places in the twin cities. Apart from deploying adequate police personnel at all important temples, the police have also increased checking and frisking at many points all over the state capital.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma called upon the managements of shops and business establishments to remain alert as terrorists were planning attacks.
The Police Commissioner said all the evidence collected on the twin blasts in Dilsukhnagar area was handed over to the authorities of National Intelligence Agency. He also disclosed that they have installed another 600 CC cameras at the vulnerable spots in cooperation with the business establishments.

Meanwhile, the Cooption police thoroughly searched the Imax theatre and its surroundings following alerts from the Intelligence agencies. It may be mentioned here that the police were on toes since the Dilsukhnagar blasts on February 21 on receipt of anonymous telephone calls that bombs were planted at certain places.
