New Delhi: A 16-year-old French national was allegedly sexually assaulted by the father of an Indian student at whose house she had initially stayed.
The incident took place on October 18 evening at the national capital’s Neb Sarai, but the victim, who had come to Delhi as part of a student exchange programme, expressed her ordeal in front of a magistrate on October 23.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police (South Eastern Range) Devesh Srivastava, a case has been registered under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), in connection with the case.
The 55-year-old accused, a property dealer by profession, is presently absconding and an investigation is underway to track him.
Meanwhile, the victim was reportedly safely shifted to the house of another family.
More details into the matter are awaited.
