Free Wi-Fi now available at Hyderabad metro, here are the speed test results

Free Wi-Fi: Free public wifi is now available at three metro stations in Hyderabad. L&THMRL in association with ACT Fibernet has set up free wifi access units for passengers as a part of a pilot project at the Miyapur, Nagole and Ameerpet metro stations.

The facility will be made available at the other metro stations soon, as these stations were picked by a large amount of step, said sources. The service seemed to be same across the entire station even inside the metro.

A passenger needs to select ‘Act Fibernet’ from the wifi options and register using a phone number. A passcode will be sent to the registered mobile number which needs to be keyed in for the net connection.

The internet can be accessed for a maximum period of 45 minutes. As per reports, the download speed was varying from 20.4 Mbps to 19.6 Mbps, which is good enough to watch videos. The upload speed was at 21.3 Mbps to 14.2 Mbps, which was tested using the Ookla test.
