Free parking in Dubai on Prophet’s birthday

Dubai, February 15: Parking for motorists will be free in Dubai during the Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) birthday holiday on February 17, announced the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Parking fees, however, will still be charged in the fish market parking spaces.

The fees will be operational again on Saturday.

The move reflects RTA efforts to serve residents and visitors to the emirate during the holiday.

Engineer Maitha Mohammad Bin Odai, Chief Executive Officer of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency called upon motorists not to misuse the parking spaces during the period of exemption.

She added that vehicles parked illegally on the pavement, blocking roads and parking spaces will be fined.
