Free Hepatitis camps in Telangana today: Health Minister

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals and Grace Foundation is holding free camps today for diagnosing Hepatitis at various places in the State. The purpose of these camps is to create awareness among the public for Hepatitis.

This was disclose by Health Minister of Telangana, Dr. C. Lakshma Reddy at Apollo Hospital yesterday. He told that 29 diagnostic centers would be setup in the State wherein preventive measures to stop Hepatitis virus would be highlighted to the people. He further told that polio injections would be provided at the designated centers.

Dr. Soma Shaker told that 40 million people in India are suffering from Hepatitis B virus. In Telangana State, Mehboob Nagar, Khammam and Adilabad are the most affected districts. He requested the Health Minister to provide free medicines for the victims of Hepatitis B on the lines of National AIDS Control Organization which supplies free medicines. Dr. Lakshma Reddy assured that he would consider his suggestion.
