Hyderabad, December 05: (Siasat News) Opposition members walked out of the Assembly during the discussions on drought situation in A.P. These parties include T.D.P., CPI, CPI (M), and BJP. Earlier, C.M. Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy giving the details of finanial assistance given to farmers said that so far Rs. 31 thousand crore loans have been given to farmers. He said that in A.P. it is not the Congress Govt. but it is the Govt. of the farmers. Govt. is trying to fulfill the promises made in election manifesto of the Congress party in the State. Govt. is spending Rs.27 thousand crore annually for supplying free electricity to farmers. Minimum support price has been increased to the tune of 88% Govt. is providing Rs. 590 to Rs. 1020. and it is trying to increase it. He said that he is prepared to represent to the center along with all party members. He refuted the charges of not providing help to farmers in drought areas. Farmers had to incur losses due to strike. He admitted that Godown facilitates are inadequate for storing food grains. These godown will be ready by December 2012. Rs. 51 crore have been released for drinking water.
