Free civil service coaching for minorities

Hyderabad: Government of Telangana has decided to provide free civil service coaching through Minority Welfare Department. Director Centre for Development for Minorities (CEDM), Prof. S A Shukoor told that minority candidates who are interested to appear in Civil Service exams can submit applications by May 8. 8 centres have been set up for receiving the applications. The government will provide free coaching through standard private coaching centres in Hyderabad. Degree pass students are eligible. Candidates’ parent’s or guardian’s income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh. 33 pc seats would be reserved for women while 3 pc for physically challenged.

Screening test for selection of candidates will be held on May 12, from 11 am to 1 pm at 8 centres. Prof. S A Shukoor told that last year 95 minority students were selected. Their coaching will be complete by May 30 and Civil Service prelims will be held on June 3. The government will spend 1 lakh 51 thousand for each candidate.
