Citizens Hospital is extending Cancer Screening and Cardiac Screening Tests to the people free of cost on its premises at Serilingampally for two weeks to mark the Doctors’ Day celebrations on July 1.
Informing this at a media conference here, Dr Rampapa Rao Ambati, president of Clinical Affairs of the Hospital, said the government has declared July 1 as Doctors’ Day to felicitate the medical professionals, who made contribution to the public health in significant way. Marking the Doctors’ day celebrations, Citizens Hospital has decided to offer Cancer Screening and Cardiac Screening Tests free of cost to the people from July 1 to July 15 on its premises, he added.
Stating that medical services have became costlier, Dr Rampapa Rao suggested to the people to follow preventive measures and get rid of diseases. The healthy environment and healthy food habits would ensure that the candidate do not come into disease spectrum, he felt. The people, who work in stress environment and consume junk foods were vulnerable to cancer and cardiac diseases, he added.
Replying to a question, Dr Rao suggested that the Telangana government introduce “Common Health Insurance” facility in the State to make the health care facilities of government and corporate hospitals accessible to the common people. He pointed out that majority of the people in Telangana State don’t afford to pay bills of corporate hospitals for the treatment to their ailments.
