France identifies second Frenchman in IS beheading video

France has reportedly identified a second Frenchman, featured in the video showing the beheading of Syrian prisoners by Islamic State (IS) militants, as Mickael Dos Santos.

The 22-year-old Muslim convert came from an eastern Paris suburb, reported the BBC.

The other Frenchman was named as Maxime Hauchard, a Muslim convert from Normandy.

The video also showed U.S. aid worker Abdul-Rahman Kassig’s severed head on the camera.

About 1,000 French jihadists are believed to have travelled to Iraq and Syria to join the ranks of the IS.

Following a security meeting in Beauvais, north of Paris, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said after that “close to 50” French citizens had died in Syria. (ANI)
