Fourth phase of polling begins in the country

The fourth phase of elections began on Saturday with voters casting ballots that would decide the fate of the people of the country.

On Saturday, voters queued up outside polling booths in Panaji.

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who was amongst the early voters pinned hopes on his party.

“I am very sure that people of Goa will recognise the two years of efforts of the government,” he said.

In Goa, 19 candidates are in poll fray for North and South Goa constituencies, which will witness a single-phased poll.

An early voter, Anil, was excited to exercise his right.

“Casting vote is like donating blood. Casting your vote early in the morning makes your entire day very good. I always come early to cast my vote,” said Anil.

Security forces were nevertheless keeping a close vigil to protect the voters.

Meanwhile, voting is also underway in three constituencies of Assam. (ANI)
