Hubballi: Four Muslim youths stripped, thrashed black and blue and paraded by a group of Hindutva activist for allegedly circulating an ‘inflammatory’ video clipping.
According to report published in Deecan Herald, the incident happened on Saturday in Nargund town of Gadag district.
Police sources said the video clipping was recorded seven months ago and was recently circulated to members of a right wing organisation.
This infuriated members of Hindutva outfit who arrived at tailoring shop where the victims worked.
The attacker men, a group of around 40 stripped Khaja Sab Malasamudra (26) and three others, including two minors, thrashed them all the way to Nargund police station.
Gadag Superintendent of Police K Santosh Babu said with the help of the video, they were able to detained three main accused.
“The footage is clear enough to identify the attackers, and based on this we have arrested the three main accused” adding that search is on for the remaining attackers and also Jamal, who recorded the objectionable video.
The leader of both the communities do not wish to register a complaint.
The injured are being treated at Karnataka Institute of Medical Science, Hubballi and Nargund taluk hospital.
