A 16-year-old girl committed suicide allegedly due to ill-health.
The victim, K. Sai Preeti, resorted to the extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Chandanagar on Sunday night. She was an intermediate first year student and was reportedly suffering from ill-health for the last few weeks which drove her to suicide, according to Chandanagar police.
In another case, Ch. Sunitha, 28, succumbed to the burn injuries which she sustained after setting herself ablaze. According to Uppal police, Sunitha was a widow. She was living with her in-laws in Lakshmi Narayana Colony despite the death of her husband Ch. Mallesh about seven years ago. However, she was allegedly being harassed by her mother-in-law Swaroopa, brothers-in-law Parmesh and Srisailam and sister-in-law Swapna, who were suspecting her fidelity. Unable to bear harassment, she resorted to the extreme step by setting herself ablaze on December 9. She was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where she died on Sunday night.
The Uppal police have registered a case under Sections 498 A and 306 against Sunitha’s in-laws and began investigation.
In a different case, N. Chandrakala, 35, of Kotlur, died of burn injuries which she sustained on December 8 after setting herself ablaze. She was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where she died on Monday morning. Financial problems are suspected to be the reasons behind suicide, according to Shamirpet police.
In a similar case, T. Mary, 30, of Aliabad in Shamirpet police limits, succumbed to burn injuries which she sustained on December 12 after setting herself ablaze allegedly due to financial problems. She died at Gandhi Hospital on Sunday night. (INN)
