A local court here today sentenced four persons to life imprisonment for beating a palm brew seller to death 13 years ago.
Additional district judge Omprakash Rai sentenced Sidheshwar Yadav, Godhan Paswan, Nagendra Yadav and Krishna
Mahto to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them.
According to the prosecution, the four convicts had beaten up palm brew seller Rupa Chaudhary in Golakpur village
on April 25, 2000 for demanding money for serving them the drink.
Chaudhary later died in a hospital.
Chaudhary’s relatives had lodged an FIR against the four charging them with the murder.
