Nagpur, October 05: Four policemen were today injured when Naxals triggered a landmine blast in Perimili area of Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra, police said. The incident occurred when Naxals blew off an anti-landmine vehicle carrying the police party this morning in Aheri Taluka of the district, one of the worst-hit by ultra-left extremism in the state, they said.
Naxals also opened indiscriminate firing on the police party, which had gone to recover the bodies of four securitymen including, a CRPF inspector, who were killed in the landmine blast in the same area yesterday. The deceased were identified as CRPF Inspector Nivrati Jadhav, two sub-inspectors of Maharashtra police– Shashi More and Mahendra Mangul–and constable Anand Patil.
