Hyderabad, September 08: Four persons were killed in two separate road accidents in the neighbouring Mahaboobnagar district today.
Two of them were killed after a car rammed into a road side vehicle repair shop at Shadnagar on the outskirts of the city. Identified as Jaffer (30) and his nephew Murtaza (12), the two were running the puncture shop near Shadnagar petrol filling station.
The Tata Indica car rammed into the shop killing them on the spot.
“The car driver lost control over the vehicle and crashed into the shop which is nearly 30 feet away from the road,’’ Shadnagar police sub-inspector Venkateshwarlu said.
The car was proceeding from Hyderabad to Shadnagar and was driven in a rash and negligent manner. Three persons travelling in the car escaped unhurt, police said.
The driver, Chakradhara Chary belonging to Hyderabad was taken into custody and police are investigating whether the vehicle was driven under drunken state.
In another incident, a passenger and conductor of an AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus in which they were travelling were killed as the bus rammed into a stationary lorry in Manopad mandal in the small hours of today.
The bus, belonging to Kurnool-II depot, was proceeding to Kurnool from Hyderabad before it rammed into the lorry parked near Itikyal village of the mandal around 5:00 a.m.
The bus conductor Jammanna (57) and passenger B Narsimhulu (45) died while being shifted to hospital. Five other passengers, including the driver suffered injuries and are being treated.
Alampur inspector A Srinivas Rao said the lorry was parked negligently on the road and its lights were not switched on. A case has been registered against the lorry driver who is absconding.
