An 18-year-old housewife committed suicide allegedly due to harassment by her husband and in-laws.
The deceased, Vidya Lakshmi, resorted to the extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Kandukur on Tuesday night. According to Kandukur police, Vidya was married to one Srinivas about one year ago. However, she was allegedly being harassed by him and his relatives over trivial issues. Police registered a case under Section 174 and began investigations.
In another case, Shaik Nawab, 30, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Millat Nagar near Bandlaguda on Tuesday night. He took the extreme step after having an argument with his wife over some domestic issues, according to Chandanagar police.
In a separate case, financial problems drove 50-year-old M Srinivas, a lorry driver, to suicide. He resorted to the extreme by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Old Ramanthapur on Wednesday morning.
In a different case, Md Shahnawaz, 19, an auto-driver, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Habeeb Fatima Nagar on Wednesday morning. The reasons that led him to suicide are yet to be ascertained, according to SR Nagar police. (INN)
