Four officials in ACB trap

Hyderabad, May 14: Four government officials were caught taking bribe in separate traps by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials across the state.

The principal-cum-warden, B Nooka Raju, and deputy warden, T Mohan Rao, of Tribal Welfare Residential School, Koyyuru in Visakhapatnam district were caught taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Friday.

They demanded the bribe from a supplier to the residential school to issue a cheque towards bill amount for supply of vegetables, an official release said.

Mohan Rao took the amount on the premises of State Bank of India, Narsipatnam branch on the instructions of Nooka Raju.

Meanwhile, the office superintendent in the office of the superintending engineer, irrigation and command area development, Bobbilli in Vizianagaram district, G Ramana Murthy, was caught on Thursday night at his residence in Bobbilli when he took Rs 7,000 from a person to do an official favour, ACB officials said.

The three officials would be arrested and produced before a special court for ACB cases in Visakhapatnam.

In another trap, the additional revenue inspector in the tahsildar office of Parlupadu mandal in Prakasam district B V S N Prasad was caught on Friday afternoon at his office when he took Rs 4,000 bribe from a person to issue birth certificates.

Prasad would be arrested and produced before a special court for ACB cases in Nellore, the release said.
