New Delhi : The Forbes list of 100 Indian Billionaires released last week features four Muslims namely Azim Premji, M.A. Yusuff Ali, Yusuf Hamied and Shamsheer Vayalil.
Azim Premji, 71, chairman of Wipro Limited has appeared at number 4 with a net worth of $15 Billion. Last year he was at number 3.
M.A. Yusuff Ali, 60, MD of EMKE Group (LuLu Group International) is at 25th position in the list with a net worth of $4.2 billion. This year he too is one spot down from his 24thposition in 2015.
Third Muslim to feature in the list is 80 years old Yusuf Hamied, a non-executive chairman of Cipla, at 60th position with a net worth of $1.54 billion. In 2015 he was ranked 28th.
Thirty nine year old Dr Shamsheer Vayalil is a new face in the list this year. At 98th position with net worth of $ 1.27 billion, he is also the third youngest person to feature in the list.
Recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman in 2014, Vayalil is the Founder and Managing Director of VPS Healthcare, a network of hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical manufacturing units and pharmacies in the UAE and India.
