Four joy riders held for murder of techie at Swapnalok complex

With the arrest of five joy riders in the early hours of Sunday, the East Zone police unraveled the mystery behind the murder of 24-year old software engineer Sanjay Jungi at Swapnalok Complex near Paradise crossroads in Secunderabad on early Friday. The police produced the accused before the media on Sunday.

According to Prakash, DCP, North Zone, the victim J. Sanjay, a software employee in Hitech city started for home in Parsigutta, Secunderabad after his duty on Thursday evening and went to friend’s room in Kukatpalli, where he partied with his friends till 3 am. Later, a friend dropped Sanjay at Punjagutta from where he wanted to go home by a cab. Sanjay stopped a car passing by for a lift in which the accused were traveling and they allowed him into the car.

After boarding the car, an argument occurred between the deceased and the accused. When the car reached the Swapnalok complex, the accused asked him to get down and pounced on him with knives and sped towards Old city. Sanjay died on the spot due to multiple stab injuries on his chest, the DCP said. A patrolling police vehicle of Mahankali police station spotted the deceased lying in a pool of blood and alerted the command control about the speeding car. The patrol car chased the assassins’ car up to Tank Bund and noted its No. 8055. With the help of the CC camera footage and on a tip-off by Syed Rasheed, ASI, apprehended the accused in a rented house at Amba Garden, Mehdipatnam.

 The East Zone police identified the car and traced the accused  Syed Salman,18, a student of Shehran, Mirchowk; Syed Mubashiruddin, 22, unemployed of Pandit Nehru Nagar, Moinbagh, Santoshnagar, Hyderabad, Mohd Mushraf alias Babu,  19, of Miralam Mandi; Syed Abdul Raheem Quizar Yaqoobi alias Quizar, 18,  of Dabeerpura; Syed Rizwan, 22, student, of Mir Alam Mandi, (who hid the A1 to A4).

The police also seized one Swift VDI white car, one Maestro bike, one Duo’s yellow bike, two daggers, four cell phones.

During interrogation, it was found that the accused hired car for joy ride on March 3 morning and moved from Old City to Cyber towers to Jubilee Hills. 

           

The accused were arrested on Sunday afternoon and were produced before the court for judicial remand.           The arrests were made under the supervision of  N. Koti Reddy, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner‘s Task Force, Hyderabad, by  Ch. Sridhar, Inspector, and SIs A. Sudhakar,  S. Shekhar Reddy,  A. Ravi Kumar, and the staff of East Zone Task Force Team, Hyderabad City along with  K. Satyanarayana, Inspector of Police, Mahankali Police Station and his staff. All the police officers are being given suitable rewards. (NSS)
