Four injured in protests over youth’s killing in J-K

Srinagar, October 26: A girl and three others were injured as violent protests continued in the valley over the death of a youth who was killed in an Army camp by the troops after he allegedly intruded there.

The clashes between police and angry people rocked Batmaloo, Maisuma, Gawkadal and adjoining areas for most part of the day, disrupting normal life, official sources said.

The youth, Sajad Ahmad Lone, was shot down by the Army troops at Watergam army camp, 65 kms from here in Baramulla district, on Saturday. While the Army said the youth was killed in self-defence after he intruded into a camp, the locals accused army of killing him without any provocation, prompting district authorities to order a magisterial probe into the incident.
