Dehra Dun, January 19: Four persons were arrested for allegedly transporting cows for slaughter at Patelnagar area here, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, police stopped a truck carrying fruits near the area and recovered three cows concealed under fruit baskets. The cows were being taken to Saharanpur for slaughter, they said.
The accused have been identified as Abdul Khalid, Manzeer, Shah Nawaz and Barkat Ali, all residents of Saharanpur.
