Hyderabad, April 12: In yet another breakthrough, city police on Sunday arrested four for the killing of a man at Tappachabutra during communal clashes.
Another, who allegedly sent incitive SMSes, was nabbed and several conspirators, some of them `main leaders’, were identified.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes) K Narasimha Reddy told newsmen Ferozullah Khan, Mohd Mazhar (from Tappachabutra) and Abdul Sattar and Adbul Raheem (from Sabzi Mandi) were among the six accused of killing Tanaji Madarse at Mustaidpura in Tappachabutra. “Abdul Sattar (42), a tailor, was the one who had hit the victim with a boulder leading to his death,” Narasimha Reddy said adding that the two other accused, Raheem Patel and Khaleel, are absconding. The senior officer, however, said the accused in the three communal killings did not have any political affiliations.
Meanwhile, it was found that Deepak Kakhar, the one who sent SMSes, `challenged those belonging to a particular community to protect their places from attacks.
He attributed the messages to a particular political party,’ Narasimha Reddy said adding they are tracing the recipients and the possible violence they could have unleashed, inspired by the messages.
Confirming the arrest of TDP corporator Raju Singh, Narasimha Reddy said the accused was the main conspirator behind the violence that took place in West Zone limits, particularly at Shahinayathgunj.
He was remanded in judicial custody and sent to the Chanchalguda prison.
Meanwhile, police said 30 cases of attack or damage to religious places were registered and 15 were arrested. A total of 272 accused have been arrested so far for their alleged involvement in the clashes.
Though Narasimha Reddy claimed that they have identified several main leaders as conspirators, he refused to divulge their political affiliations.
On a query why and how the clashes broke out, Narasimha Reddy said it might take 10-15 days to come to a conclusion.
