Four held for attempted murder in Telangana

Police today arrested four persons on charges of attempt to murder in Suryapet area here and seized from their possession Rs 12.50 lakh cash along with two knives.

Four men, identified as Koppula Laxminarayan Reddy, Shabber, Naresh and S Ravi, were held this afternoon during a check of vehicles in Suryapet and Rs 12.50 lakh cash, two knives and some documents related to land settlement recovered from their possession, District Superintendent of Police MD Rasheedh told reporters.

They were nabbed on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway in Suryapet town here as they tried to fled the checking in a white four-wheeler, the DSP said.

He added that the four belonged to Narsimhulu Gudem village in Munagala mandal and face charges of murder and involvement in two cases of land settlement in Suryapet and Medak.

The four were out on bail in the murder case of sarpanch of Narsimhulu Gudem village, Pulandhar Reddy.

The DSP said the four accused were heading towards Kodad town in the district to execute a murder and also confessed to their crime.

A case has been lodged under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 180 (refusing to sign statement) and other relevant sections of the Arms Act, he said.
