Kapurthala, June 23: Four members of a family were burnt alive in the wee hours today when the cot they were sleeping on caught fire at Dayalpur village in the district. The deceased have been identified as Paramjit Kaur (32), her son Ajay Kumar (11), and two daughters Preeti (9) and Muskan (6).
“All the four victims were sleeping in a room when their wooden cots caught fire due to short circuit of the electric fan resulting in the death of Paramjit Kaur and Ajay Kumar on the spot,” DSP Mohinder Singh told media persons. Preeti and Muskan succumbed to the injuries on their way to hospital, he said.
