Four dead, eight hurt as two buses collide

Four persons died on the spot and eight others injured grievously, three of them critically when two RTC buses collided head-on at Chowdarpally on the Raichur highway on Tuesday.

A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus proceeding towards Bellari and another bus coming from Hyderabad collided head-on. As a result, the Hyderabad bus was badly damaged and the commuters received grievous injuries. While two persons died on the spot, two others died while being shifted to hospital. A five-year-old girl was among the dead.

It is learnt the accident occurred due to rash and negligent driving of Karnatak bus driver. Telangana Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy enquired about the accident and directed the TSRTC regional manager to provide medical treatment to the victims. (NSS)
