CPM leaders Balu, Jaipal, Ramchander, Mallesh and Lateef received grievous injuries when the vehicle in which they were traveling ploughed into agriculture fields as driver lost control over the vehicle at a sharp turning at Kondamallepally in Nalgonda district on Sunday.
According to the information, condition of the driver turned critical. The CPM leaders were proceeding towards Nagarjuna Sagar to attend a two-day party plenary meeting. CPM Politburo member B V Raghavulu, CPM Telangana State secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram and educationist Chukka Ramaiah, who were traveling in another vehicle towards Nagarjuna Sagar, rushed to the accident spot and extended help to the victims. The injured were admitted to Devarakonda Hospital for first-aid and from them they were shifted to Hyderabad. (NSS)
