New Delhi, November 12: Four youths hailing from Bihar were charred to death here when a fire broke out in their house cum workplace early today, fire brigade officials said.
The blaze was reported from a house in Rampura area of west Delhi’s Punjabi Bahg area at around 4:40 am. Two fire tenders were rushed to douse the flames.
Four occupants — Mohd Jaffer (22), Md Ajaz (20), Nazim and Saba Karim (both 19) — were found charred to death by rescue workers, the officials said. They were rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where they were declared brought dead.
“All the four were tailors who sewed bed sheets, curtains and sofa covers. They were sleeping when their room caught fire,” a senior police official said.
The house and business belonged to one Abdul Ghaffar, whose son Saba Karim also died in the fire.
