Four arrested for vehicle thefts

New Delhi, July 25: A 18-year-old boy and his minor accomplice, who allegedly stole motorcycles and sold them for a meagre Rs 4,000, were apprehended here and ten two-wheelers were recovered from them, police said today.

Two youths from Haryana who bought the stolen motorcycles from them were also nabbed.

After indentifying a target vehicle, police said, one of the gang members would speed away with it while others kept watch of the surroundings.

“They would sell stolen motorcycles in Haryana for meagre Rs 3,000-4,000 and would distribute the money equally,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Chhaya Sharma said.

One of the apprehended is a minor. Others were identified as Vicky (18) from Harayna’s Sonepat, Gulab Khan (23) from Harayna’s Karnal and Umed (20) from Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar, she said.

Vicky and the minor boy were the first to be apprehended on July 21 from Vijay Dharam Kanta on Mubarakpur Road.
