Four arrested in detonator blast case in Raipur

Raipur, November 09: City police today arrested four youths and has summoned a local medical agency owner, in connection with the October 31 blast which occurred due to the use of detonators in Rajbandha Maidan area here.

The four accused — Aarif Shaikh, Sunny Singh, Rakesh Sahu and Devanand Gondwani, had allegedly been hired by Vijay Jadvani, owner of Laxmi Medical Agency located in Rajbandha Maidan area, to clean his shop before Diwali, police said.

While cleaning the shop, the four found a huge amount of detonators. In a bid to extract the copper from the them, they set the detonators on fire which resulted in the blast, they claimed.

No one was injured in the explosion in which windshields of vehicles and window glasses of the buildings in the vicinity were shattered.
