Four accused in female veterinary doctor murder case arrested

HYDERABAD: Acting swiftly in detecting the sensational murder of veterinary doctor, the Cyberabad police have picked up four persons–truck drivers and cleaners—who were allegedly involved in the crime.

Suspects identified

The prime suspect is identified as a native of Naraynpet in Mahboobnagar district.

He along with three other assailants suspected to have kidnapped, gang-raped and killed the deceased in Shadnagar area of Ranga Reddy district.

The police had earlier recovered the charred dead body of a 27-year-old veterinarian in Shadnagar.

HM remark panned

A remark that is being widely criticized Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said the veterinarian should have called the police instead of her sister as this could have saved her life.

Terming the incident unfortunate, the minister said that if anybody calls police on 100, help would reach them within three minutes.

Clarifying his bizarre remark, Ali said the victim was like his daughter.  

“I’m deeply saddened by the mishap. She was like my own daughter. Stringent punishment will be given to culprit. When I met her parents, tears rolled down my eyes as well,” he said.

Crime unfold

According to the police, the deceased had called her sister around 9.45 p.m and informed her about the help offered to her.

The investigators suspect that the assailants had punctured her scooter and kidnapped her on the pretext of helping her to repair the flat tyre.

The accused took her to a secluded place near the Tondupally toll gate, raped her in the area between the parked trucks and committed the heinous act.

Her body was later set ablaze at the highway under pass.

The accused later shifted the scooter of the victim and left it on the roadside in Kothur.

The accused were apprehended on the  basis of CCTV footage from the surveillance cameras which showed the lorry bearing No. TS 07UA 3335, driven by the prime suspect.
