The release said while the ground preparatory works on the recently handed over Miyapur depot land (104 acres) are going on at a brisk pace, excavation of loose soil, filling up and layer by layer consolidation of moorum have reached the required stage in some parts of the Uppal depot (100 acres).

Casting yard at Uppal (60 acres of leased land) is almost ready and casting of segments has commenced. A total of 28,000 segments, each segment with dimensions of about 30 feet X 10 feet and weighing about 35 tons will be required for erection of the flyover like Metro Rail viaduct for all the 3 corridors spanning over 71 km, the release said.
