Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao aims to provide double bedroom houses for the poor in the State to lead a respectful lives.
Along with Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahamood Ali, Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, Union Labour & Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatraya, MLA Ch Ramachandra Reddy and others, the Minister laid foundation for construction of 210 houses to be built at a cost of Rs 17.85 crore under the housing scheme at Indira Nagar in Khairatabad here.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said the people of the locality are lucky as they will get the houses in one year and celebrate next Vinayaka Chaviti festival in their new homes. The new houses are coming up in the heart of the city abutting Neckclace Road near the world-famous Khairatabad Ganesh idol, he said.
Last year, Chief Minister KCR made a visit to this locality and moved at their pathetic conditions and promised to provide housing facility, he said. Srinivas Yadav asked the contractor to complete the construction works and handover the houses within one year time. Though the beneficiaries delayed to vacate the place to GHMC, we are happy now that the foundation was laid for completing the project. Rs 8500 crore will be spent for constructing one lakh houses under this scheme in the city.
The scheme of housing is ideal to other state in India he said. We are lucky to have the chief minister like KCR who is aware of the difficulties of the poor he said adding that the beneficiaries form a committee to monitor for speedy completion of the works. There is a lot of difference in the houses built previously and now by the TRS Government.
Dattatraya said the people in the locality are fortunate as their dream of making a permanent house is becoming true. The Centre will extend support to the State government in providing double bedroom houses to the poor, he said. (NSS)
