Former T-Congress MPs seek KCR’s intervention on OU lathicharge

Four former MPs of Telangana Congress on Monday demanded the intervention of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issue of lathicharge in Osmania University campus.

Addressing a joint press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, the ex-MPs – Madhu Yashki Goud, Ponnam Prabhakar, S Rajaiah and G Vivek said that the Telangana Government should hold direct talks with the students over the issue of regularitsation of contract employees. They said that the OU campus was the epi-centre of statehood agitation and the dream of separate State would not have had been realised without the support of OU students. Therefore, KCR should respect the OU students, their sentiments and demands and find an amicable solution, they demanded.

Ponnam Prabhakar said that the OU situation should not be politicised and government work on a serious solution by convening an all-party meeting. (INN)
