Former Nepal king Gyanendra to visit Orissa

Bhubaneswar, December 04: Nepal’s former King Gyanendra Shah along with his wife and four other family members are likely to visit Orissa to attend a marriage function here on December 10, royal family members said.

The former king would attend marriage of Rajysree Bhanja Deo, daughter of erstwhile Mayurbhanj kingdom’s scion Praveen Chandra Bhanja Deo, also a minister in the Naveen Patnaik cabinet.

“King Gyanendra and family will come here on a special flight. I do not know whether the king has any other engagement in the state or in the country,” Deo told PTI, adding that arrangements had been made for the stay of the royal family at a posh hotel.

Deo’s daughter is getting married with Jaisingh Rathore, a scion of erstwhile Jhabua royal family in Madhya Pradesh.
