New Delhi, June 15: Former Medical Council of India chief Ketan Desai, in judicial custody in connection with a graft case, has been admitted to AIIMS for treatment of a bacterial infection on his face.
Desai, who has been lodged in Tihar Jail, was admitted in the old private ward of the AIIMS surgery department on June 11.
Desai is undergoing treatment for a pus cavity or abscess caused by bacterial infection on his eye, doctors said.
“Ketan Desai was brought here with complaint of pain in the eye. The boil had grown on the eye swelling a portion of his face. He is undergoing treatment for it,” one of the doctors at AIIMS said.
“His condition is not well as the abscess is giving a lot of pain.
