Former judge in ACB custody in cash-for-bail case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau court on Saturday remanded former judge T Lakshmi Narasimha Rao and a real estate dealer R Surya Prakash Babu, accused in the cash-for-bail scam of former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, to four days ACB custody from Sunday.

The court while remanding them to ACB custody asked the probing agency to interrogate them in the presence of their lawyers from morning 11 am to 5 pm. The court also directed the ACB not to use third degree methods to elicit the information from them.

According to ACB, during the interrogation, Lakshminarasimha Rao confessed that Dasaradharami Reddy, a relative of Gali, had made Rs 100 crore offer as part of bail for Gali Janardhan Reddy and R Surya Prakash Babu placed a mediator role in transfer of money. (INN)
