Former Indian President’s Brother accused in Murder case

Former Indian President Pratibha Patil’s brother has been accused in the 2005 murder case in Jalgaon.Gajendra Narayan Patil is a top Congress leader from Jalgaon.

This murder case was raked up by the Bharatiya Janta Party in 2007 when Congress nominated Pratibha Patil for the President’s post.

Gajendra Patil was described by two people arrested by the police as the mastermind of the killing of Professor VG Patil of the Congress in Jalgaon, over 400 kilometres from Mumbai.

the victim’s wife said in a Interview, a witness in the case, has alleged that the president’s brother was a mastermind in the murder conspiracy. She had earlier said that her husband was murdered due to political rivalry.

Pratibha Patil served as President of the India from 2007 to 2012.
