Hyderabad, May 08: The local police today took into custody a former MLA after he allegedly fired in air to prevent his rivals from demolishing a portion of a building to which he claimed ownership, police said.
The incident occurred at MLA Colony in posh Banjara Hills area at around 4 PM, police said.
Former legislator B Rama Rao fired three rounds from his revolver in air in self defence after a group of persons led by his rivals pelted stones on him as he tried to stop them from demolishing the house to which he claimed ownership, they said.
“Based on a complaint filed by one Jayashri Rao, a case has been registered against Rama Rao. Both were involved in a dispute over ownership of a land in the MLA colony. As per information, Rama Rao fired three rounds in the air.
